JOB POSITION: INTERIOR DESIGNER
We are seeking a talented and experienced mid-level to senior designer who is well-versed in FF&E Procurement to join our team. This temporary position will last up to 6 months, specifically to help complete a hospitality project in the high desert, with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance. This role is crucial in bringing our vision to life for a boutique hotel project, focusing on sourcing new, artisanal, and vintage items to create a unique and inviting atmosphere. The ideal candidate should possess a highly refined sense of taste and style, as well as extensive knowledge of finishes, materials, furniture, and specifications, particularly within hospitality design. We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality design and enjoys bringing thoughtful and beautiful ideas to the table.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compile and present to Principal options for the sourcing, selection, and procurement of furnishings, soft goods, decor, art, accessories, and items for the hotel and retail store
Collaborate closely with the Principal on design concepts and decisions
Design custom furniture and fixtures that align with the hotel’s aesthetic and functional requirements.
Source unique and interesting items from online shops, retailers, and local artisans in Los Angeles and the high desert.
Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and fabricators to ensure timely delivery of all FF&E items.
Prepare detailed FF&E schedules, budgets, and installation plans
Coordinate and oversee the delivery and installation of all FF&E items on-site to our project in high desert
Communicate design ideas through sketching, drawing, and 3D modeling.
Conduct deep dives into research, inspiration, and sourcing.
Wear many hats and work well with a small, dynamic team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related creative field.
Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience working in interior design
In-depth knowledge of finishes, materials, furniture, and specifications.
Familiarity with new and vintage online shops, retailers, and local creatives in the LA and high desert areas.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD (PC-based), SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. SolidWorks / Rhino is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
Demonstrated sense of highly refined taste and style.
Positive attitude, self-motivated, and willingness to learn and adapt.
Located in Los Angeles and willingness to travel to the high desert frequently and as necessary.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Contracted full-time position for up to 6 months, with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays provided on a prorated basis for the 6-month duration.
In-office position based in our East Hollywood studio, with occasional remote work as determined by the Principal.
Open to considering part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
